ABOUT US

Two football rivals brought together by their shared passion!

The Oklahoma Football League (OFL) was established in 1996, only to be disbanded in 2000. Undeterred, two league coaches were steadfast in their commitment to preserving youth football. Charles Clemons and Charles Thompson, the dedicated coaches, each took their own path towards this goal. Clemons concentrated on developing the Eastside league at Edwards Park, while Thompson ventured in the opposite direction to Woodson Park. Despite starting off as friendly competitors, the common mission of keeping youth away from negative influences brought Clemons and Thompson together.

Known as CT from his days as the former OU quarterback, Charles Thompson and Chuck Clemons founded the Oklahoma Inner City Youth League (OICYL) with the aim of steering young men away from streets and gangs.

Sharing a mutual vision, Clemons and Thompson decided to put their rivalry aside and amalgamated in 2015 to create a more potent and cohesive OICYL.

The OICYL nurtures a sense of camaraderie among players, teams, and the community, offering coaches and teams the necessary framework to instill resilience, determination, and perseverance. Numerous young men within our community have benefited from these programs, and the OICYL is committed to upholding this tradition.

The OICYL continues to progress by broadening its influence through partnerships with local nonprofits and community organizations, ensuring comprehensive support for league families.
